This is a map showing how many languages were spoken inside the Venetian Republic.
I selected a specific period, between the 17th and the 18th century. The borders of the Venetian Republic changed many times considering that this country lasted along 1100 years.
In the period I chose there were 17 different languages spoken in the territories of the Republic. In other historical periods there could have been even more: like Crimean Tartars, Ukrainians, Southern Italy languages (Neapolitan and Sicilian varieties).
Anyway here you have the map, for all the History-Language-Geography Lovers!
