VELICELLO

Il velicello è una specie di nutria dal collo lungo che presenta una membrana sottile ed elastica che va dalla nuca alla coda; grazie a questa vela naturale il velicello si sposta galleggiando sull'acqua, sospinto dai venti che soffiano sulla superficie dei laghi.
Sempre si muove in gruppi piuttosto grandi e vederli dal bordo del lago è uno spettacolo molto bello.

Auto-Cometa

después de haberme inventado los wind-wheels me quedé medio inspirado por la idea de unas cometas volando solas por el cielo. en un sueño de estas últimas noches de hecho soñé algo parecido... se trataba de una auto-cometa.

soñé que un hombre se movía por un sendero y de repente, con curiosidad y por casualidad se cruzaba con una simple máquina volante que fluctuaba un poco como si fuera una gran libélula en frente de él.

era una auto-cometa, o sea una cometa exactamente como todas a la cual se le añadió por debajo unos 3 o 

4 pequeños ventiladores ligeros, como los de los ordenadores.

los ventiladores estarían conectados a una batería de las mas ligeras, como las de los relojes de pulsera así que generarían un flujo de aire hacia arriba que funcionaría como una especie de "helicóptero casero", un "paracaídas proyectado para elevarse". el viento generado por los pequeños ventiladores empujaría la estructura ultra-ligera como una vela provocando la elevación del conjunto.

la idea es simple, pero no sé porqué algo me dice que no funcionaría fácilmente... de todas maneras, vamos, era tan solo un sueño, no?

en verdad no estaría mal poner una especie de aleta estabilizadora por debajo de la cometa. hecha de la misma manera que la cometa misma. este eje, comandado a distancia por una señal radio, permitiría poder diseccionar lentamente y con cierta aproximación el dispositivo.

con el estabilizador ya está! tenemos un dispositivo volante completo!

fácil de utilizar y de construir. un ultra-ligero de la fantasía!

y ya que estamos, porqué no construir una seria de estos cacharros, yo qué sé, unos 15, por ejemplo, y echarlos al aire todos! tele-guiados por la misma señal radio y que vuelen juntos, como pájaros, por el cielo, en sincronía. no estaría mal, no?

wind wheels!

you just go in a flat place, like a long beach with compact sand. you take your WIND WHEEL and you connect it with the kite that's flying in the windy sky. that's all! you have a self propelled wheel that will roll and roll until the wind power is over.

here you have a more realistic scheme to make you understand the easy system:

this kind of wind wheel is the first I imagine and I like it for the simplicity of the idea.
can you imagine a big flat land in a windy day with a series of these wind-wheels running in groups, without anyone moving them? wouldn't it be a magical vision?
but even if I like this idea because it's the most conceptual one I have to admit that I was wondering if there was a system to create an autonomous wind-wheel because the previous one is moving until the wind blows and when the wind stops the system also stops.
but this is such a simple idea that there are thousands of ways to realize a wind-wheel that can run and stop and start again when the wind comes back.
here you have an example of the model number 2 of the wind-wheel:

it's a system that includes two sails on the sides of the wheel and a metal profile that works as a base in case that the wind were not blowing.
the metal bars stabilize the wheel when it's steady.
when the wind starts blowing again the sails would lift up the metal structure because they are not fixed on the middle of the wheel, they are hung from the upper part of the wheel and considering the shape of the sails the strength of the air will push from the bottom lifting the hole system.
as the system is up and the wind is blowing again the wheel will go on rolling and rolling infinitely! :)
