metro continuo

sabéis todos como es coger el metro, no?
primero hay que buscar cual es la parada de metro más cercana.
cuando ya la tenéis identificada, hay que andar hasta la entrada de la estación.
luego bajáis en la estación y esperáis el próximo tren.
si tenéis suerte pasará en seguida, si no habrá que esperar un ratín, algunos minutos al cabo de los cuales llega el tren (corto: hecho de unos 4 o 5 vagones) y ya está, se trata tan solo de esperar la parada cercana a vuestro destino.
está claro que si no os movéis en momentos de punta la cosa funciona bastante bien, si no, si hay mucha gente moviéndose, los trenes se colapsan y es un agobio caminar y hasta entrar, quedarse y bajar del tren.

pero, por qué todo esto?
los inconvenientes del sistema de metro serían fácilmente superados si en lugar de trenes puntuales que de vez en cuando pasan por una estación, se concibiera el metro como una franja de vagones continua que se mueve a lo largo de una linea cíclica, arrastrada de una serie de locomotoras entremetidas a los vagones de los pasajeros.

imaginaos una cadena circular de vagones que circula sobre líneas como las del esquema dibujado aquí arriba.
este metro no está concebido para ser subterráneo, sino de superficie.
el pasajero no tiene que buscar la "estación de metro" sino que tiene que cruzarse con la linea de metro misma. al llegar a la linea de metro ya está en la posición ideal para entrar en el vagón que de allí a poco se va a parar en frente de él (ya que este tren nunca termina, es circular).
el tren circular se para cada 2 minutos y cada uno puede elegir donde le es más conveniente bajar (también porqué no estando en un túnel subterráneo será visible donde uno se encuentra).
además cada vagón tendrá un esquema donde se ilumina su posición en el anillo de su propia linea (cada vagón entonces marcará una posición diferente en su propio esquema visual de la red, siendo que queda vagón ocupa una posición diferente en el total de la línea).

las calles de circulación viaria deberán pasar por encima o por debajo de esta línea ininterrumpida de vagones de metro-continuo.

de esta manera en momentos de punta de movimiento de pasajeros, la línea podrá llevar muchísima más gente que ahora y el coste en carburante de mover este sistema será básicamente el mismo que un metro normal porque el mismo número de locomotoras estarán trabajando juntas para darle la vuelta a la cadena de vagones.
además el hecho de que cada uno pueda bajar en el punto que le conviene más de la línea descongestiona muchísimo el tráfico por las estaciones de metro.

el metro continuo es una gran herramienta de aligeramiento del tráfico urbano en grandes ciudades de millones de habitantes.

subway lines of middle earth

do you remember the famous map of Middle Earth dawn by Tolkien for the famous book The Lord of the Rings?
well it's a quite popular one, isn't it?
so, what if this map was a subway map instead of a sort of ancient treasure map?
hehehe. the result is pretty interesting. here it goes:

it's now easier to move through Middle Earth.
Frodo finally could easily leave the Shire just taking the train in the subway stop "The Shire-Hobbiton" and simply changing line from blue to purple go on until the end of the line, "Orodruin" stop.
the same for all the Company of the Ring and Gandalf and so on.
Sauron would even not notice that Frodo already destroyed the ring, thanks to the fast movements that the Middle Earth Subways permits!

mano porta anelli

ecco qua la mia utile e pratica (anche se qualcuno l'ha già definita come macabra) mano porta-anelli da tavolo in argilla, perfetta anche per braccialetti e tutti i monili che possono stare in mano! :)

circle eye

this is a strange object I found some year ago inside one of my dreams.
real dreams I mean, I was sleeping.
it was in a desert where I found a strange construction made by metal circles nailed to the soil.
I was by their sides and it was easy to reckon that they were placed in a decreasing series from the biggest (as big as me) to the smallest (something like 20 cm of diameter).
it was a sort of inverse telescope cut in slides.
the only peculiarity was the position of 2 circles in the end of the series: they had an offset, one was slightly moved upwards and the other one was slipped downwards like in this drawing

so I slowly moved in front of the series of circles to watch inside it because the concentric composition brought me to do it.
and it was in that moment that I saw the geniality of this object!
the last hole was the only one you could see through and pointed to the horizon, all the circles made a sort of cone that projected my stare to that small point of light in the end of the last metal ring, but the wonderful thing was that the 2 offset rings created a sort of eye on the bottom of the cone, like this:

it was really amazing!
you were looking inside and wouldn't expect that such a simple structure could create such a powerful vision.
now I was looking to a sort of infinite spiral to a far light in the distance that was the horizon and pointing my attention to that final hole it was clear that a sort of metal eye was looking at me on the other side!

I think this is a very interesting sculpture!
I would like to make the ring my rusted steel and put them in a remote part of a desert. the final hole pointing the sunrise point (maybe the sunset...)
