enlarged countries

the geopolitic situation of our world is totally crazy, we all know it.
every country says that it's necessary to wage some new war against some other country in order to keep the peace.
for our security I'm gonna bomb you.

but if the mirage of the inner security gives the right to attack some foreign country, how it would be if a nation would decide to invade all the neighbour countries in order to protect its own borders?
let's see

here you have some example:
this is Brazil if it would expand beyond all its borders conquering the near-by nations:

very similar to the whole south-America!
and what about Chile?

smaller, indeed.
let's change continent and see how China would be:

that's pretty awesome: enlarged China's map is almost the entire Asia, it means that China has borders with almost all Asia!!
and this is how India would be:

let's consider other asian examples: Turkey

or Colombia

or Iran

on the other hand, nations that you can easily imagine they can really invade other countries, as the U.S. or Russia, they generate maps that are not that interesting: the U.S. is simply a map of North America and Russia is very similar to the previous U.S.S.R.

African countries on the contrary are really interesting to see... here you have a multiple map of enlarged countries.

I'm really sorry for the absence of South Sudan.
I created these maps some year ago...

L'ALBERO DELL'IPOCRISIA

what if the US were Palestine?

What would have happened if Palestine were the USA?
let's make this small effort of imagination:
do you know the famous image of the evolution of the Palestinian territories during the years? here you can have a look to it:

so what would have happened if instead of the Palestinian land the UN and the Zionist movement would have selected the US territories as the promised land? here you have the answer:

so as you can see the Gaza strip would be now the Miami strip and the West Bank would be now the Middle Bank.

as regards the Palestinian population if we make the right proportions we can understand how many US citizens would be refugees in other countries.
if the Palestinians are 11 millions in total and only 4.400.000 are living inside the borders of Israel, we can calculate that over the present population of the United States (318.500.000) there should be now more than 191 millions of American people living as refugees outside of the US.
the rest of people would live in the Miami strip (50.000.000) and the Middle Bank (over 75.000.000 of people).
but as it happens now with the Palestinians when the US refugees would complain that they lost there own lands the rest of the could would answer like this: why are you so obsessed with this piece of land? you can easily move to Canada that's a country where people speak your own language, you're the same. just shut up and forget that land that, ok, maybe it was more fertile and it was yours, but things change and if you now try to claim your ancient lands you're a real risk for the peace in this region. you're a terrorist. probably it wouldn't be a bad idea to bomb down Miami. just in case, you know. with these extremist US people you cannot negotiate...

beware the USA!

I made a very easy research of all the wars waged by the USA from the beginning of its history. I realized a map in order to visualize all the countries involved in some conflict with the United States. here you have the graphic result:

all the information are official and easy to check.
there are not so many countries that hadn't anything to do with the US army in the last 2 centuries.
the order of the colours is made by priority, that means that if one country fought a war against the united states it's in coloured in red but it doesn't mean that there couldn't be also putsches made by the USA or that there aren't now military bases in its soil. In such a case I just put the red colour because I thought the priority was to show the war before the other things.
so the priority is:
1- war or any other military intervention in foreign country.
2- putsches or major interference in foreign countries' fights.
3- presence of US military bases
4- military alliance with the USA by mean of the NATO.
5- countries that were involved in some conflict with the USA because they were part of the colonial empire of some nation in war with the USA.

as you can see by the map there are very few countries that never had to face the presence of the USA army, even Greenland is not free from this invasions!

so... who thinks that the USA is not an imperialist country? it's not necessary to be a bolshevik to admit it

risk chess

everybody knows that Chess is a game of strategy that simulates a sort of battle.
so, what do you think is the other typical war game that anyone knows? yes, exactly! you got it! is Risk!
so... why don't we unite this two war games and we create a chess board with a geographical background that represents the war between two countries?
now the chess pieces are moving through the regions of your enemy's country, conquering and invading provinces, taking control of seas and mountains...

maybe not a very sophisticated idea, but for those who like war game it could be nice (if the maps would be done in a better way...) here you have two samples just to give you an idea of what I mean.

World War Map

I always wanted to make an animation of all the conflicts on earth to show how many wars and violences there are in recent history.
I made several researches trying to find the data to make a graphic representation of all these stupid wars that happened year after year leaving the world as we know it now (it means not a "better world" at all...)

Today I discovered a very nice web page, is the conflict encyclopaedia of the Uppsala Conflict Data Program.

with the maps inside this page I can, at least, give you an idea of what I have in my mind and that, maybe, I will never be able to finish....

This animated gif is not exactly what I intended to do, first of all, here represented there are just the official war conflicts between countries and this is just a small part of the conflict on earth.
(the conflict encyclopaedia indeed divides the conflict in three categories: Wars, Non-State Conflicts and One Side Violences, but these last two categories are available just for the most recent years).
I mean, it would be interesting to show the real conflicts, official and unofficial ones, maybe showing different colours for different typologies of wars, guerrillas, etc...
second, it has a relative importance to show USA in war when the conflict affects mostly Irak, Afghanistan or Vietnam. A better map should give more importance to those places where there was violences, and not just the official line-up of the countries (even if this is also very important...)
third, a real good map should show the regions where the wars take place, not the just the country. when you see Russia as a big red spot, but the war is concentrated just in Cecenia, this is a distortion of reality that can give a wrong idea of the dimension of the conflict.
fourth, the ideal map should show how many death were provoked here and there, maybe by mean of circles of different dimension, cause if you see a small spot on the map you tend to think it's a minor conflict, but this is not that proportional.

In my opinion an ideal map of world wars would take in consideration the most part of historical periods till it were possible to achieve reliable data about the conflicts.

Another map that I'm thinking and working to do is the map of all US conflicts with all the victims made by the States (maybe with a counter of the total number of victims year by year) in order to give an idea of the impact of the US foreign policies in terms of human lives.
