as increíevis viagens

reading reminder

this is the Reading Reminder: a flat dweller of the shelves that moves between your books and leans out of the pages in order to remind you that reading is always a good activity and your books are silently waiting for you.

KITANZANIA

new book of my drawings. this time it's about my tanzanian trip, in the end of 2013.
of course it's exactly the same concept than the other books of mine (my books in internet)
this time the book is called KITANZANIA that is the swahili word for the idea of tanzania itself.
like always if you're interested in these drawings you can decide to buy the book (I tried to keep it at the cheapest price) or you can also go to this page: michoro ya tanzania that includes all the drawings of the book. so you can download them for free and organize your own book if it's cheaper for you.
the only difference, of course, it's the format (this is a real book, not photocopies) and there is a small part in the end that includes a brief glossary of the most important words in swahili language.
the book it's made of about 80 pages of drawings, basically, and the price should be something like 6,50 euros. i hope it would keep stable!

the other books of mine are explained here: my books

holy media!

1- in oral tradition the the most holy and powerful thing in the universe was the word!
in the beginning was the word... the word creates worlds and gives sense to reality. the word has power and controls the phenomena.

2- in a second step, when the writing became so important and so powerful, so mighty in the hands of the elite and so magical and incomprehensible for the poor people, the most holy thing in the universe became the book! the holy books written by god started to infest the world.

3- if you see in historical terms the era of new media (not only oral, not only writings) has just been born. but if everything that's the most powerful tool of communication becomes sooner or later the most holy thing in the universe for religions, have we to suppose that the next generations of holy things would be televisions? computers? i-phones? internet? whatsapp?

get ready for the new era: crusades to defend the holy screen of the only real television-show! or something like that.

God Google, you who knowest everything (and who answerest to human beings, thing that is not common for the traditional gods...) please give us the answer to this troubling question!!

------------------------------------------------------------------

...and on the other hand, religions are not wrong when they consider the media to be so important and holy: they are really the creator of the reality as we know it!

SKETCHES OF INDIA

The NEW book of the series "travelling-sketches-books-of-mine" has been created!
This time is the turn of my Indian drawing book called Sketches of India. I know the title is not that original, but at least it's quite clear the subject.

The standard version of the book is the cheaper one made in grey tones.
The black and white shades are not bad even if this time beside the usual ink drawings I wanted to give some colour touch to the black signs so sometimes I used things that I found on the road in order to give some visual tone to the compositions.
This made the original drawings become an interesting melting pot of ink, coffee, holy powders of Hindu temples, coca-cola, Indian tea, food sauces and so on.  An interesting experiment I have to admit.

If anyone of you would appreciate to have a copy of the book with colours there's a second version of the book, but it's quite expensive.

Most of the book is made with the scans of the trip diary (150 pages over 190) the rest is some small extra (including even the tale of a dream that I had during this adventurous travel).
Anyway, as always, the same drawings you find in this book are visible and open in the net, if you want to have a look enter the blog: www.capitan-mas-india.blogspot.com and, of course, if you like them, you can download them, print them, modify them and make your own personal book as you prefer.
I hope that through this new book some friend can share and enjoy this last drawing trip of mine.

to have a look to all my books open to be purchased in internet you have to open this link.
and if you want to buy this Indian book click here.

ciao!

new frontiers of self-editing!

this is my new frontiers of self edition of books! after my first 4 books of personal drawings, now I'm using the self-edition for anything I need. example: a guidebook for India! I need it, I'm about to go to this huge different country! I found the pdf's of the guidebooks, I put my maps, my documents, the information of flights and visas, I made new covers with a map of the regions, so it will not be necessary to open the guidebook to have an idea of where the places are, it's just to have a glance to the cover of the book and you already know where you are and where you want to go.

I removed from the original pdfs those descriptions of regions that I'm not going to visit for sure, and I split the guidebook in two volumes: Northern India and Southern India, that's perfect for my kind of travel in which I should decide between these two big areas, that means that when I'll choose the region I'll handle just one of the guidebooks.
and it's still cheaper than the official Indian guidebook, even considering the sending costs by mail!
So, I'm very proud to show you my new guidebooks honestly called "Copied GuideBook of Northern (or Southern) India"

Sweet Mama Salone Book

For those who don't believe until they don't see the pictures, I tell you that (after the arrival of podróż do polski and the books lembranças do caminho y desenhos de angola)finally the Sweet Mama Salone Book arrived!
the book with all my drawings in Sierra Leone!
It's good to have some books of mine in the shelves of my room, it's a nice remembrance or a nice present for my friends.

As you can notice, the book has a sort of experimental format due to the concept of the original diary of sketches that I drew: I tried to create a sort of continuous strip of drawings starting from the first page to the last one. In an abstract way if you could see all the pages one after the other you should see just a unique large drawing. for this reason I decided to organize the pages as a composition of squares sketches in which you can see the "normal" couple of pages and, by their sides, also two parts of the previous drawing and the next one as well. the effect could be a bit strange and repetitive. it depends how much you love these drawings.
anyway if you prefer a more conventional format of book there are other two versions of the same drawings, one is KOINADUGU that is a book with "normal pages" that gathers the same sketches and the Kuranko glossary I made in Kabala, adding to this also some beautiful pictures of Fabrizio Savini and some made by me as well. Koinadugu is not a huge book (just 77 pages) but the price should be very low.
the other version is the same of Koinadugu but there's a very interesting extra that is the ethnographical reserch over Kuranko's culture made by the anthropologist Micheal Jackson (I know... the name sounds strange...). this book is the most complete of the three versions and it's called KOINADUGU BOOK (365 pages about Sierra Leone. if you watch and read one every day, exactely in one year you will finish it!!!

* * * * * MY BOOKS * * * * *

My books of voyage drawings arrived!
I finally have them in my hands!
(I'm happy)

the result is really satisfactory! I love them! now I can give some copies of them to my friends.
or even better to send them by physical mail, as I received them.

If someone would like to buy them the price should be really cheap because my intention is not to "sell" these books, but to spread them between those friends that can be interested in this personal point of view of my voyages in Brazil, Angola, Sierra LeonePoland, IndiaMozambique and Tanzania.

to buy these books is easy and anyone can do it online through these links:

- and KiTanzania

in these webpages you can also visualize a preview of some pages of the books, but as you know, you can always see the drawings of these books in my blog webpages, you can watch the ones you like, you can download them, you can print them, do your own book if you prefer and basically you can do whatever you want with them.
the books I published contain some additional parts like pictures, short stories (in the ones of Brazil and India) and some small dictionary of kuranko language (in the one of Sierra Leone) or even an ethnological research (in the Koinadugu Book) but the books are mainly made by the drawings you can see in these pages:

that's all!
I'm happy

book of sketches in Poland

I've just published a book of sketches.
Inside the book you can find all the sketches drawn in my first 20 days in Poland (and also some photos).
So, if for some strange reason someone would like to buy this book instead of just watching the scanned images on line (or instead of easily downloading those images and than printing them in a normal printer), just click this link Podróż do Polski (voyage to Poland).

The price should be less then 7 € and it's just for the site that publish the book.
The price of expedition by mail depends of the place, but it's easily calculated in the web page before asking you to pay.

just in case you like it.
