Mixing the World

as I wrote long time ago in Geografie Alternative (note number 5), in order to break our crystallized idea of the world there are several ways to manipulate the maps, connecting peoples and places, breaking frontiers and implementing the unity of the whole humanity in our planet. 

one of these subversive methods of re-creating the world is mixing the names of the places in a random way. It's obvious that generally you are always expecting to read Boston near New York, both inside the United States, part of North America, but how weird and shocking could be reading Kandahar in the place of New York, near Peking and Lima, all of them part of Syria.

Suddenly these names that always existed in a very theoretical way, far even from our idea of the world, are now in our houses, in our neighbourhoods. they are near! they are us!

This was the original idea, but making it real in a proper way it's really a tough job. 

I decided instead to make an easier and more naïve system. I just shifted the names of each country to the next one in the alphabetical ordered list of world countries. 

so in Afghanistan you'll find Albania, cause Albania is the next country in alphabetical order. 

Now imagine that all the people and governments of these countries have really to move to their new places in the earth. A big mess, for sure! but can you imagine the marvellous cultural new opportunities of staying in the USA, crossing some km's of sea landing in Gabon, and by car, easily soon reaching Belize, New Zealand and finally entering Ghana territory? That's exactly what would happen in this map.

you can open this image and watching how the continent are now mixed: all of them are scattered out around the planet! now you cannot say any longer that Africa is all poor and Western Europe is all rich. it depends. they are mixed, they are overlapped, they are all around.

look for example how divided is the European Union. This division is not a wall or a border, it's a dilution, a mixture inside the fruit salad of all the countries. it's a richness! congratulations EU fortress! now you're finally a part of the world!

It could be also interesting to see how history would change in this kind of map, I mean all the historical events are now in a new chess-board: look how was the travel of Cristoforo Colombo, starting from Italy, going to ask to Portugal Crown to realize his project, going finally to Spain and from there going to the western Indias touching first the soil of the Hispaniola island, presently the Dominican Republic.

sobre los infinitos papelitos y libritos donde voy apuntándome ideas, imágenes, conceptos curiosos que se me ocurren, que me gustaría desarrollar y que, al final, nunca llevaré a cabo.
el blog es solo la parte pública y comprensible de mi universo loco de delirios fantasiosos sin ningún fin y ninguna razón.

adjunto unas imágenes con los últimos papelitos de apuntes porqué, al fin y al cabo, no dejan de ser interesantes aunque totalmente confusos e incomprensibles.
tienen cierto "valor estético" digamos. a veces mucho mas interesante que el resultado final de las ideas desarrolladas.

Libro-Laberinto

imagínense una laberinto dibujado grande como una pared. como todo laberinto hay una entrada y una salida y muchos caminos equivocados que no llevan a ningún sitio. ahora imagínense que en cada centímetro de recorrido haya un texto escrito y que el hecho de recorrer visualmente el camino no sea otra cosa que leer la linea de una historia escrita entre las lineas del laberinto.

Se trataría pues de un libro-laberinto, en el cual la historia se desarrolla durante el camino hacia la salida.
La cosa interesante de este texto no es tan solo la composición gráfica del texto, sino que el texto puede coger varias bifurcaciones y por cada dirección elegida se crearía una variación a la historia.
Como en la vida real las pequeñas decisiones generarían un escenario de eventos diferente y con resultados finales opuestos. El texto laberíntico se adaptaría a este esquema y por cada elección, se abriría una historia nueva.

Me imagino el libro-laberinto como algo gigantesco, un lugar donde perderse. no hace falta que haya solo una salida correcta, puede haber muchas, lo importante es que cada uno recorra una historia personal.

No estaría mal que el laberinto fuera realmente un laberinto construido en el cual pasear en lugar de estar dibujado.

aqui arriba hay un ejemplo parcial para que sea más clara la idea.

unseen places map

generally when I think about a map related with the places that I travelled or I already saw, I draw a map that highlights the visited places, like this one. 

unlike this kind of maps another way to visualize the places of the world you already travelled is to delete the places that you know and to leave in the map just the places that are still unseen.

this is my personal map of unseen places in 2013.
The Unseen Places Map is the perfect map to organize your next trip. very useful to clearly understand which are going to be the lands of your future discoveries in this planet.
It's just a way to underline the future, the unexplored part of the world, instead of the past, the known parts of it.
it's a sort of half-eaten apple: where can you still bite juicy parts of the planet? this world is big! still a lot to bite!
I find it nice.

questo concetto è una gran cazzata: si tratta soltanto di una foto dello schermo di una macchinetta fotografica durante una foto. in sé non é nulla, se non per il fatto dell'assurdità della cosa.

da un punto di vista concettuale un artistoide potrebbe comunque trarne giovamento.
teniamo comunque conto di due fatti:
1- il gioco di fotografare uno schermo di una macchinetta che fotografa dà spazio a svariati giochi di fantasia, del tipo che lo schermo potrebbe mostrare invece dell'immagine intempo reale, un'immagine di qualche istante prima, già fotografata. la sovrapposizione di mezze facce con diverse espressioni tra lo schermo e lo sfondo potrebbe aprire nuovi orizzonti di giocose cazzate.
moh perchè non c'ho voglia di pensarci su, ma per esempio, si puo spaziare ancora piú in lá, la foto da bambino (o da vecchio...) nello schermo e la realtà dietro. una foto storica nello schermo durante la guerra, per esempio, e la realtà di adesso sullo sfondo, mille cose, amici, mille cose.
2- un'altra cosa da considerare é che guardando la "foto di foto" il passaggio indiretto tra noi e il soggetto non é solo uno come potremmo immaginarci, i veri passaggi sono questie: A- il soggetto forografato dalla prima macchinetta; B- lo schermo fotografato dalla seconda macchinetta; C- la foto mostrata nello schermo del vostro computer o telefonino e finalmente vista dai vostri occhi.

belli gli emoticon, no? tante faccine che mostrano gli stati d'animo. simpatiche, dirette, immediate.
la forza dell'emoticon é che la faccina é neutra e si applica a tutti. quello che conta é l'espressione, lo stato d'animo.
ma in fondo... che palle usare le facce neutre, no?
sarebbe assai piu divertente creare i propri emoticon, con la propria faccia, intendo, no?
ecco, io ci ho provato, ne ho fatte pochissime, ma è solo per dare un'idea.

si potrebbe anche immaginare un'applicazione o un programmino on-line per creare i tuoi propri emoticon con la tua faccia. tu carichi una foto e ti si applicano i cuoricini, le risate, gli occhiali, etc etc..

esta es una idea simple y fácil para mejorar la situación política y social de cualquier país.
el parlamento flotante.
se trata de un edificio flotante anclado a la orilla de la costa del país a través de un puente.
en el parlamento flotante, todos los días, normalmente, se reúne el gobierno del país para decidir el futuro de la nación, la única cosa innovadora es que en el caso los políticos se porten mal o actúen al revés de lo que es la voluntad popular, el pueblo está autorizado a quitar la única conexión del parlamento a la tierra firme, el puente, y a hacer literalmente naufragar el gobierno, con todos sus gobernantes.
